My Body
24"x24"
Oil on Canvas
2023
In a world filled with the glorification of thinness, I feel compelled to use my voice and creativity to break stereotypes. Through my work, I aspire to empower women, especially fellow women who have different body types, to embrace confidence unabashedly.

After Shower
28"x22"
Oil on Canvas
2023
The inspiration for this painting came from seeing my body reflected in the mirror after I took a shower. I realized that my skin was sallow and my body was full-bodied. To confront body shaming and question the prevailing aesthetic norms, I resolved to undertake the creation of this painting. What’s more, I want to advocate the varied forms of the human body promote the appreciation of diverse types, and empower women to love themselves.

Self Portrait
30" x 40"
Oil on Canvas
2024
This painting builds on the theme of my previous work, "Avoiding Body Anxiety." In this piece, I've delved deeper into capturing the body's texture and form. By allowing the figure to occupy the entire canvas, I've enhanced the visual impact, more powerfully showcasing the robust beauty of the voluptuous female form.

This is a portrait of my ex-boyfriend and me. Our emotions tend to shift quite rapidly, and I've been inspired to capture these sudden mood changes, along with the expressions that cross our faces, through painting.

Shenyang Chicago
Each 12”x20”
Oil on Canvas
2024
This oil painting compares Shenyang, my hometown, with Chicago. Both are industrial cities, but while Chicago's economy continues to grow, Shenyang has declined with the fall of traditional industries. The work reflects the contrast between fading memories and new development, capturing my mixed feelings about home and change.

Untitled
16"x12"
Oil on Canvas
2023
This painting was born out of introspection as I looked in the mirror and observed the subtle intertwining of fat and the soft extrusion of curves on my body. I am attempting to convey a message of self-acceptance and an appreciation of the unique perspective of our bodies.

Me in the mirror
12"x9"
Oil on Canvas
2023
This mirror self-portrait is my exploration of how often I am looking in the mirror due to my lack of confidence. The mirror became my reflective companion to face my imperfections head-on.

Self Portrait
20"x16"
Oil on Canvas
2023
I noticed the subtle differences in the size of my eyes and face, which reminded me that these imperfections make each person unique. In a world often obsessed with flawlessness, embracing authenticity is invaluable. I'd say it's more important to love yourself than to strive for mass aesthetics.

Grandparent's kitchen

Untitled
12"x9"
Oil on Canvas
2023
In conceiving this painting, I chose a strong pair of contrasting colors, yellow and blue, to evoke visual impact. The contrasting hues serve a dual purpose, symbolizing both the personal significance of the objects (to me) and their aesthetics. These two yellow objects hold a special place in my heart - they are among my favorite objects and represent my love of the color yellow. One is full of sentimental value and is my most cherished item, while the other is my favorite fruit.
